Urnes Style brooch - bronze pendant
Made in Denmark
In 1986 & 1987 two identical brooches were found during an archaelogical dig near Ribe, Denmark. They were found near farmstead sites from the late Viking Age (i.e. the end of the 11th Century.) Depicted is the intertwining dragon motif in the "Urnes" style of Viking art. The Urnes style was the last of the great Viking design styles, and was named after a Norwegian stave church. Authentic copy cast in high quality bronze directly from the original Viking Age artifact.
Brooch measures 1-3/4 inches high and 1-7/8 inches wide
