History
The Norske Løve pronounced "Norshk Luh-vuh" was a three masted warship launched in 1765 for The Royal Danish-Norwegian Navy. It measured 160.43 long, 31.82 wide and had a draft of 16.63 feet. It had a displacement of 1,076 tons and a crew of 402. The ship was originally named after the Norwegian/Danish coat of arms and was renamed the Øresund pronounced "uh-reh-soon" in 1772. The vessel was used as a guard boat in the Øresund and other coastal waters around Denmark. The ship was decommissioned form the naval register in 1798.
