The spear was one of the most widely used weapons on the Viking battlefield. It was valued both in warfare and in hunting. Spearheads were much cheaper and quicker to produce than swords, and therefore were more common place. Used in throwing, thrusting, hooking an opponent's shield, or as pikes, spears were an indispensable part of the Viking assault. Our Viking spear head is hand forged from a tough, high carbon steel featuring a 9 1/4" long spear head that is 2" wide and 3/16" thick. The overall length is 14 3/4" and it weighs 1 lb. The Pole can be purchased at any hardware store, and the spearhead can be adhered to it with an epoxy.
